BASF AutoFroth™ has been engineered to meet the requirements of Nuclear Regulation 1608. Low Level radioactive Waste (LLW) is being shipped to the Nevada Test Site (NTS) using AutoFroth™ Polyurethane Foam. AutoFroth™ is a Structural Expanding Foam and is used to block and brace large items in waste packaging including: equipment inside glove boxes, liquid process tanks and cargo containers. AutoFroth™ stabilizes equipment and loads from tipping, sliding, and shifting during handling and transport. AutoFroth™ is presently used for fixing and encapsulating contamination inside glove boxes as well as reducing voids (subsidence) in storage and transportation containers.
